Junior Kalaylah Banks, Freshman Isabella Edmond, and Claire Miller explain their thoughts about the Rocktown Track Team and why they decided to join and experience.
“I want to improve and be better than last year this track season.” Banks said.
Her favorite thing about track is the people and the practices.
“This is my second year doing track, and my inspiration for track is the people on my team. Like the seniors they’re all really good so it’s nice to look up to them.” Banks said.
Her biggest supporters are her family because they all come to see her run.
“I would continue doing track because I really like it, it’s really fun, it’s better than other sports I’ve done, and it’s all you and all about you like an individual thing. “ Banks said.
Kalaylah Banks runs in the 100, 4 by 1, and she throws shot put and disc.
“My goal for this track season is to PR and to get better.” Edmond said.
Her favorite thing about track is competing against others.
“I decided to do track this year because I like the sport and I’ve been doing it every year, and I’ve been doing it for four years now.” Edmond said.
Her biggest supporters are her family, friends and her coaches.
“The hardest part of being on the track team is not doing good and getting too much into your head.” Edmond said.
The events that Isabella Edmond competes in are the 4 by 1, and hurdles.
“My goal for this track season is to jump maybe 14-15 feet for long jump and then PR in my 100 meter.” Miller said.
She decided to join track this year because she’s been doing track for a long time and she really enjoys the sport.
“I’ve been doing track for four years now and my inspiration for track is probably the juniors and the seniors that I’ve seen during track.” Miller said.
Her biggest supporters are her parents and her sprinting coach.
“I do think I will continue doing track because I’ve already been doing it for so long so I think oh finish up high school doing it just to see how far I can really push myself.” Miller said.
